音楽を使ったインスタレーション。
代田橋のアートギャラリー「full⇔empty」にて開催。
2023年末にリリースした、カオスをテーマにした楽曲「MOKA / Deus Ibi Est」（＊1）を、ギャラリー1棟全体を音楽メディアと捉え、通常の展示スペースを越えて、カフェバースペース・トイレ・通路・事務所にも11台の小型スピーカーを設置。1階を動的なカオス、2階を静的なカオスと雰囲気に差をつけつつ、ギャラリー空間内で新たに再構成。また、展示に際して新たに加えたフレーズや、代田橋の立ち飲み屋/アートギャラリー「納戸」や代田橋駅などでフィールドレコーディングした環境音も音楽要素として使用。元々ギャラリーにあったもの以外の視覚的なものをなるべく置かないことで、音楽や小型スピーカー11台が自然物のように「ただ在る」状態を目指した。
キャプションは、楽曲の構成要素をキュレーターの早渕氏の観点から表現。ギャラリー内のカオスの一部を切り取って所有することができる「音楽付き一杯」や、一点物の絵画作品のように小型スピーカー本体もエディション11で販売した。

楽曲コンセプトは「カオス」。制作拠点近くを流れる早渕川の生態系のカオス構造から着想した楽曲「MOKA」と、インスタグラム上に同時多発的にアップロードされ続ける、世界中の人々の音楽にまつわるリール動画（アカペラで歌う子ども、電車の中で歌ってる人たち、サッカーの歓声、祭りで太鼓を鳴らす人、リハーサルをするホーン隊、寺で鐘をつく住職、フラメンコのギターなど）を大量にサンプリングして作った楽曲「Deus Ibi Est」の両A面シングル。
Ryota Mikamiは、「音楽の新しい楽しみ方・価値観を創る」をコンセプトに掲げた音楽ユニット「Vegetable Record」に所属し、ソロアーティストとしても活動する。空間、プロダクトなどあらゆる対象をCDやレコードと同じ「音楽のメディア」と捉え、まるでそこに入力された音楽を発信するかの様なスタイルをとる。本展示では、同時多発的に起こる事象を個々に捉え、自然界のカオス構造を基点として音楽を制作。普遍的な旋律、誰かの声、鑑賞者の動き、全てが音楽を組み上げ、それはいつしか今いる場所を奏でることになっていく。

Held at art gallery "full⇔empty" in Daitabashi.
"MOKA / Deus Ibi Est" (＊1), a piece on the theme of chaos released at the end of 2023, was considered the entire gallery building as a musical medium, and beyond the usual exhibition space, 11 small speakers were installed in the cafe-bar space, restrooms, corridors, and offices. The first floor is dynamic chaos and the second floor is static chaos, creating a different atmosphere and reconfiguring the gallery space in a new way. In addition, the music includes newly added phrases for the exhibition and environmental sounds recorded in the field at "Nando", an art gallery/bar in Daitabashi, and Daitabashi station. By placing as few visual objects as possible other than those originally in the gallery, the aim was to have the music and 11 small speakers “just exist” as if they were natural objects.
The captions expressed the components of the music from curator Hayabuchi's point of view. "A cup with music" that allows visitors to cut out and own a piece of the chaos in the gallery, as well as the small speaker itself, like a one-of-a-kind painting piece, were also sold in edition 11.

The music concept is "Chaos". A double A-side single, the song "MOKA" was inspired by the chaotic structure of the Hayabuchi River ecosystem that flows near the my atelier, and the song "Deus Ibi Est" was created by sampling a large number of music-related reel videos (child singing a cappella, people singing on trains, soccer cheers, drummers at a festival, horn players rehearsing, a priest ringing bells at a temple, flamenco guitar, etc.) of people from all over the world that keep being uploaded simultaneously on Instagram.
Ryota Mikami is a member of "Vegetable Record", a music unit with the concept of “creating new ways to enjoy and value music", and also works as a solo artist. He considers all kinds of objects, including spaces and products, as "Music media" just like CDs and records, and his style is as if he were transmitting the music that is input into them. In this exhibition, he creates music based on the chaotic structure of the natural world, capturing events that occur simultaneously and individually. The universal melody, someone's voice, and the viewer's movement all make up the music, which in turn plays the music of the place where we are now.
